A Devastating Mistake

Is Your Money Really Invested?

It's common to mistakenly deposit money into an IRA or brokerage account without actually purchasing investments.
This oversight leaves your money sitting as CASH and earning little to no interest! You'll even be losing money over time due to inflation.
It's not enough to place money in your investment account - you must take the next step and actually purchase an investment with the money that you moved into the account.

When It Can Happen

This oversight happens a lot when you initially move money into an investment/retirement account, but can even happen at times after the investments were made. For example, a Rollover IRA (e.g. moving over a 401(k) from a previous job) in some cases will reset your money as CASH and you need to actively re-invest the money.

How to Confirm

The good news is it's pretty simple to confirm your money is actually invested.
Log into your investment account and check your investment 'positions'.
This will display how your money is invested and you can confirm it's not sitting as CASH.

Imagine how devastating it can be trying to cash out your investment 20 years down the line only to realize that you don't really have an investment....
